I really think that chipmunks are fantastic little animals. I'm not sure why, maybe because of how cute they are.
I like the background in this image. I chose a wide aperture for this image to blur the background that happened to be a large redwood. I just thought that the contrast between big and small was fitting for this.

This is the 2nd summer for my purple coneflowers. Last year it was about a 1/3 the size and this year is has already put on more blooms than all of last year.

Purple coneflower is a favorite of mine and a friend was kind enough to let me pull some out of his garden two years ago. That's my favorite way to garden: cheap/free and an early reward 👍.

Common names for this mushroom include “Apricot Jelly” and “Salmon Salad,” but I always think of those wax bottle candies and those ridiculous wax candy lips I had as a kid.

My favorite spot on Clear Creek Trail to catch #fall foliage ('23, '24, '25). The wall (lower right) & ground (left) is where I find my favorite spring wildflower (Anemone hepatica) which is one of the 1st to bloom.
