A little mushroom in its own little room.

A little mushroom with an orange stalk and light brown cap growing on a weathered tree stump that's partially covered and surrounded by moss with a vivid green color. The tree stump has the form of a stair with two steps and has a hole in the horizontal center of the upper step. The mushroom is right in there with moss growing on top of the upper step creating a "roof" for the mushroom. There's two dark brown mushrooms on the side of the stump.

A hollow log was put horizontally as a spout for a natural spring in the forest, the water cascades out of it in a thin drizzle. The log is covered with a colony of brown-gold colored mushrooms with a flat cap. On both sides of the spring, the ground is covered in lush vegetation

It has been a fungal fall in NorCal. In Willow Creek this morning. Running through wet fern jungles, redwood and bays. And the mushroom jungles shine below.

Behold this metal af mushroom that showed up in our yard! Last night it had the classic, domed mushroom shape. By morning it had turned into this!

How to describe this magnificent fungi. It sprouts up from the spiky, redwood leaf litter on a smooth, cream colored stalk - maybe 10-15cm tall (but what do I know as an American 🙄). What was last night a tall, domed cap the same color as the stem transformed overnight into a disk shape ringed with shiny, almost metallic black fronds that curl under. Other gray mushroom anatomy going on inside the ring.

Now we're cooking with gas! A 5km walk netted many chanterelles (Cantharellus flavolateritius)(haven't weighed them yet), some fresh dryad's saddle (Cerioporus squamosus), two old men of the woods (Strobilomyces strobilaceus), a black velvet bolete (Tylopilus alboater) and some white-pored chicken of the woods (Laetiporus cincinnatus.) I'll have plenty to share with my friends and family, but my work cut out with the cleaning! #nature #fungi #mushroom #mushrooms #mushtodon #foraging

A countertop is laden with mushrooms. Two large bowls are piled with chanterelles, which are irregular trumpet-fan-shaped mushrooms of a peachy yellow color. Two large lobes of dryad's saddle lay on the table, cream white with a radiating pattern of brown scales. Two meaty cap-and-stem mushrooms that appear to be covered in tufts of black hair are old man of the woods. They are next to the black velvet bolete, a small lumpy velvety black mushroom. Finally, a pile of white-pored chicken of the woods are spread out. They are softly lobed rounded fan shapes that are covered in tiny white pores on one side and radiating soft orange and peach zones on the other.

Y a un champignon qui a poussé vite sous l'un de mes érables de terrasse 🌳🍄
Il est gros j'trouve et je m'y attendais pas.
Il est beau aussi 🥰
Apparemment c'est un "Leucocoprinus birnbaumii".

Ça pousserait souvent dans les plantes en pot.
Ça abîme pas la plante mais c'est pas comestible.
Faut faire attention si on a des petits et des animaux. Je pense que ma chatte Dora s'en fout donc ça va.
Bref j'aime bien cette surprise ☺️
