A photo taken from near the base of a mature tree, looking in an upward direction. The crown of this tree has yellowish orange leaves during the autumn season. The trees around it still have green leaves, so the image looks a bit like a sea of colour surrounded by green. Patches of blue sky can also be seen around the top of the tree. The trunk of the tree is about one and a half feet in diameter. The photo definitely has an autumn feel to it.

Photograph of bare shrubs in the foreground, with a few leaves still clinging. Behind is the calm, blue water of a lake in the morning, reflecting the inverted image of tall green conifers with their upper parts in the sun. A light mist still floats above the water.

Photograph of a dirt road, partially covered in fallen orange leaves, bordered on either side by tall birch trees with very white trunks, which contrast with the yellow foliage still at their tops and with the smaller green conifers behind them. A cloudy white sky is visible through their canopy. This soft colour combination is my favourite of autumn.

Enchanted Moon Unicorn / Unicorn Art by Lisa S Baker. Under a full harvest moon, a mystical unicorn in a witch's hat steps softly through a pumpkin-lit clearing, trees standing sentinel at the edge of night. Starlight threads its mane like quiet spells, and the scene hums with autumn enchantment-part fantasy, part moonlit serenity. A fun way to bring a touch of whimsical wonder into your home.

The frame is filled with colour.

It curves slightly to the left and slightly uphill around a small grouping of very mature trees. About thirty percent of the leaves are still on these trees, displaying a vibrant orangish colour amidst the branches. This photo definitely has an autumn vibe associated with it.

This is an Autumn season photo of a very mature deciduous tree alongside a hiking trail. Many leaves have already fallen to the ground and the leaves remaining on the tree are a mix of green, yellow and orange. It was taken on a fair weather day with traces of the blue sky visible through the branches. The sunshine creates an illuminating effect on the leaves in the upper branches. The tree looks somewhat majestic and strong in terms of it's presence in the forest.

1. The colors in the UP were at their best — a gift I didn’t expect.
2. The woods in the Hiawatha Forest felt grounding and steady. It was home in my childhood and young adulthood.
3. On a trip shaped by loss, it helped to find a moment of quiet beauty.

Once again strolling through my photo memories. This was from an early morning drive through Grosse Pointe, Michigan a couple years ago. The golden trees, quiet street, and sidewalks stirred up childhood memories of growing up in Michigan—even though this wasn’t my old neighborhood. Some places just feel like home. 🍂🚗 #Michigan #GrossePointe #Nostalgia #AutumnVibes

The week of October 11 officially marks the beginning of this year’s “legs weather” in our house. The days are still warm, but the evenings are getting chilly, which means our cats have rediscovered the joys of curling up on my husband’s legs while we watch TV or work on our computers.

Unfortunately, this also marks the beginning of his least productive season. Once one or both cats have settled in for a peaceful nap, he simply doesn’t have the heart to disturb them. Apparently, whatever he was planning to accomplish can wait. The cats have spoken. 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

A black cat sleeps soundly, stretched out across a person’s legs in blue jeans. Its eyes are closed, its head rests comfortably near the person’s knees, and one front paw dangles over their leg. The cat’s glossy black fur catches the warm indoor light. A softly blurred wooden bookshelf filled with colorful books provides a cozy background.
