#Bluesky has launched #Attie, an #AIpowered app that allows users to create custom feeds by typing commands in natural language. Built on the AT Protocol, Attie leverages #Anthropic’s #Claude and is designed to be user-friendly, enabling people to curate #personalisedfeeds without coding knowledge. https://techcrunch.com/2026/03/28/bluesky-leans-into-ai-with-attie-an-app-for-building-custom-feeds/?eicker.news #tech #media #news

This article is a must read.
An excerpt: “Why would anyone fund an Atmosphere project if #Bluesky, with $100 million in the bank, might ship a competing feature at any moment? Why would a founder bet their career on this ecosystem? The presentation didn't just hurt Graze. It made the entire ecosystem look unfundable.”
Why do I keep bringing up this topic?
Because #ATproto is often put in the same category as #ActivityPub (“open protocols yay”) but I strongly disagree with that stance

Maybe it's time to fork off... to Mastodon.

I moved my #bluesky account successfully to #leafplaza, a European derivative on #eu servers.
I did the movement not by myself, because my BS-Account was too huge (30 GB+), so the wonderful Leaf Plaza-Support helped me and did the movement overnight manually.
The Leaf Plaza App for #android and #ios is available for free in the app stores. There will be an #ipad version in the future too.
What's missing is a web front-end, but it will happen in the near future ...
Hello from my new #Mastadon account. I deleted #Facebook, #Pinterest, #Instagram & #BlueSky. I hope this forum is not so American-centric. Here's to #gardening #nature #flowers and #maincoons !
Interesting things are happing in the Atmosphere (the network built out around Bluesky and their ATProto protocol).

I have written a sample letter that you can use to invite organizations to join the #Fediverse.
The letter is shared under a #CC0 license. Feel free to copy, adapt and send it to organizations that still rely on #BigTech.
Thanks to @danie1 for the English translation.

Keep it up #Europe
But please do me a favor
Don't replace #USA #techbro shit with... USA-style techbro shit (like this #W #Bluesky vomitorium)
And if I need to explain to you what I mean... no I don't think I need to do that. You feel what that means in your bones
I say this as an American
Something no one addressed yet: #ATmosphere posts are not indexable by search engines. It should be as it will help increase exposure of the network.
The same can be said with #Fediverse posts. I only see #Threads indexed.

> Who could have predicted Bluesky could ever have run that risk? I mean, apart from everyone warning us that it was launched by weirdo alt-right blockchain-shilling AI-loving shitbird Jack Dorsey, and that their current CEO came from a weirdo alt-right blockchain-shilling AI-loving shitbird background. You know. Besides them.

So I usually hate sending over bluesky links anywhere since I'm not a fan, but Rob Ricci highlights some important distinctions between #activitypub and #atproto
Fundamentally, activitypub is designed to be useful with a partial view of the network. (Narrowing down to #mastodon here) Likes are communicated, mentions are communicated, and so on.
Over at atproto land, you have no option but to write to your repo, and so you have no choice but to view the entire network to say, find replies and such (narrowing to #bluesky here). So the only way you can get your data is to read the network and filter it yourself, or have someone else do it for you, which doesn't solve the problem, only shift it.

Of all the #Bluesky client forms, #Witchsky is still better and ahead of the pack, even if compared with the main Bluesky app itself.

I have been on #Fediverse for about a little bit over a year and a half now.
After about three weeks over at #Bluesky, I decided to set myself up with a #Mastodon and a #Pixelfed account despite felt technically intimidated by the whole Fediverse thing. And I’m glad I went for it—enjoy the vibes, the different communities, especially the #Wordle community, and the people!!!

Have you seen this blog post?
It confirms, from first-hand experience, most of the points I made in an earlier post and its follow-up.

Ken White, aka Popehat, a lawyer and popular poster on #Bluesky was recently suspended (https://www.popehat.com/p/a-bit-of-tedious-drama-at-bluesky). Suspension now over, Ken writes:
"...I believe that returning after a suspension carries with it an implicit promise that I won’t post that, or something like it, again. I won’t make that promise, so I won’t return to Bluesky."
Indeed, Bluesky is demonstrating they can extort censorship with the ban hammer. Other users are put on notice it's not you this time, toe the line.

Hey fedi, should I be using Mastodon instead of other instances? The reason that I ask is because of this: (queue image)
Not being able to see all of someone’s posts isn’t ideal, plus it seems like Mastodon is largely the most used(?)

We just rebuilt vir.group from the ground up. This is not a minor update. This is a fundamental rewrite of the product DNA.
https://vir.group
What changed:
ActivityPub integration is now fully native. Your posts reach the entire fediverse. Hundreds of millions of users across Mastodon, Bluesky, Threads, and dozens of other compatible platforms. No duplicate content. No managing multiple accounts. Post once. Reach the world.
Matrix protocol with E2EE encryption is now the default. Even we cannot read your messages. Session keys are yours alone. Recovery key gives you full control. Encrypted reactions, replies, edits, deletions. Works on mobile and web simultaneously.
Audio and video calls are built directly into the app. WebRTC with our own TURN relay in Europe. HD video. Noise suppression. CallKit on iOS. Push notifications on locked screen. No external links. No "let's switch to Zoom."
Projects hub is now a full marketplace. Publish your project with description, media, links, tags, and investor pitch. Categories for technology, art, education, manufacturing, services. Global reach via ActivityPub. Premium placement with 48-hour moderation. SEO optimization with short links and canonical URLs. Click analytics. Direct encrypted chat with interested parties.
Full feed control. Filter by words, topics, languages, domains. Mute, block, hide. Choose global, local, followed, trending, or your own custom lists. No algorithmic recommendations. You decide what you see.
Web version now matches mobile. Three columns. Composer. Side navigation. Same E2EE. Same calls coming soon. Responsive design that works on ultra-wide monitors without stretching one column across the screen.
This is not a social network. Not a messenger. Not a project marketplace. It is all three. Built for builders, creators, investors, and analysts.
Register in one minute. Publish your first project today.
