🌐 Content Distribution #WORLDWIDE #DECENTRALIZED Network(s) (CDN)
A service that hosts online assets and provides content management via servers located #around_the_globe to #reduce the #latency of #downloads to #users.
CDN (Decentralized) #nodes are usually deployed in #multiple_locations from #DIRECT_BANDWIDTH #BACKBONES, often over multiple #Internet backbones.
Benefits include #reducing bandwidth #costs, #improving #page_load times, and #increasing the #global availability of content.
The number of nodes and servers making up a CDN varies, depending on the architecture, with some reaching #thousands of #nodes with #tens of #thousands of #servers on many #remote_points of presence (PoPs).
Others build a #global_network and have a small number of geographical #PoPs.
