The world has 100x more to gain from ridding the world of the scourge of narcissism, than it has to gain from ridding the world of the "scourge" of autism. 具体是这样的：
各种媒体都开始播报据称从某个“秘密但很可信的来源”获得的信息。
这样做往往正是为了研究公众舆论对某个秘密计划的新项目的反应。
如果公众舆论的反应是积极的或中性的，那么这个新项目就会得到实施，而不必担心这些行动会导致社会抵抗。
如果舆论的反应是负面的，那么就有可能 "驳斥"耸人听闻的消息，宣布其为 “假新闻/无稽之谈"，然后组织更多的信息对舆论产生影响，以改变民众对计划实施的项目的态度。

另一种方法叫 “三明治”，也很流行，就是把目标政客的致胜信息放在一个从根本上改变其本质的环境里。
使用“三明治”的方法多种多样。比如：
(a) "毒药夹心三明治” —— 将对候选人有利的观点夹在否定的引言和否定的结论之间。这种叙述方式会中和正面的意见，使其变得隐形。
b) "糖心三明治"是"毒药夹心”的反向用法：在正面的引言和结论之间加入负面的观点，以塑造政治活动主体“总体正面”的形象。
当你有情绪的时候，你的眼睛会主动去抓取符合既有情绪的部分，而忽略掉有矛盾冲突的其他部分。这就是受众受影响的过程。

Austrian psychologist Susanna Rubinstein was born #OTD in 1847.
She went on to study psychology & German literature at the University of Prague, in the spring of 1870 & then at Leipzig University 3 years later. After being denied admission to the doctoral program in Basel, Switzerland, she enrolled at the University of Bern and there gained her Ph.D. in 1874 in psychology and German literature. She became then the first woman to receive a doctorate in Bern.

Calkins' work informed theory and research of memory, dreams and the self. In 1903, Calkins was the twelfth in a listing of fifty psychologists with the most merit, chosen by her peers. Calkins was refused a Ph.D. by Harvard University because of her gender.
