Is it all by posting links? I can’t think of content I’ve seen on here from one of those other platforms, u less it’s suppose to be that seemless. Thanks for helping me figure this out!

But if you do not follow anyone, your feed will feel empty. So go ahead and find people and organizations that you like and follow them. Make things interesting. There is a lot of interesting people out there.
The search is great for finding content and who to follow. Hashtags are useful when searching as well.

As Mastodon and other services grow, take the time to learn how to “verify” yourself. It’s simple: add a link to your profile page, then add a rel=me link to the headers of your website, linking back to your Mastodon profile. It shows a checkmark on your link, and can help other users verify that you are who you say you are

Has anyone put together a curated list of #fediverse servers (preferably open source or at least with a public API) that:
- want to be found by the general public (I’m looking for a source of recommendations for a server picker in a client app)
- meet at least some reasonable minimum moderation/reliability standards?
I know #mastodon has joinmastodon.org/servers and pixelfed also has their own curated server list, but is there anything that isn’t software-specific?
