#Thursday #Daylily du jour once more, with a rerun of one of the newest 3 (apparently I missed a different one yesterday, darn it, it's very short.)

This is "Double Wye River"

A bright (bright!) tall yellow double flower, with so many yellow petals they're difficult to count. Sprinklers had run, so the flower is covered in small water droplets. The yellow encompasses the entire bloom, from the straight edges to the throat. Yellow!

An unopened bud is visible behind this bloom so (deer willing) you may see another one of this flower.

Took this photo in my yard yesterday. There were a dozen small gaps between the leaves, where the concrete floor showed through, but I filled them in with #Gimp clone tool. I made my clones darker than the original, but to make them smaller, I guess I'd have to paste the source into a temporary image or layer, shrink it, and clone from that? #bloomscrolling

Variegated purple and magenta leaves with lime green fringe cover the image, receding into the darker depths of the plant.

Today in the greenhouse...

Lophophora williamsii, known as peyote, native to southern North America, particularly the Chihuahuan Desert. So unusual for three flowers to appear at once and this is the smallest of my peyote plants. The flowers will probably be followed by pink seedpods and black seeds, though I've never tried growing this species from seed.
