My hero this week is Representative Zooey Zephyr of the Montana House of Representatives, who has had enough of weird laws from scared politicians that want to control all aspects of life, right down to the clothes we wear.
Ms. Zephyr is a transgender person, so she knows what she is talking about. And with her speech, she kills the latest bill that would otherwise have limited people's freedom to dress as they please.

I wrote an open letter yesterday to my children, in case I get killed by fascists for existing while #trans before I have a chance to tell them about myself and the world (obviously, I’ve started that, but they are young for all the details). It’s admittedly long, and the fact that I wrote it feels pretty dark, but choosing to express myself to my children feels like an act of resistance, and a chance for cis folks to see that I, a trans mom, feel deep love and care for my children, just like all moms do.

I can't believe I'm only just now hearing about this. #MarcyRheintgen, a young transwoman from Illinois came to #Florida and, in a planned act of #CivilDisobedience, flouted the #trans bathroom ban by entering a women's bathroom inside the State Capitol and simply washing her hands. She was arrested on the spot and has been charged with 11 months in a men's prison.
