Functionally, this is similar to tagging me, my blog, or my mutual aid project in your own mutual aid request post. The main difference is that the submission form allows you to anonymise yourself and have the request circulate through @comrade instead of your own social media account.
The form is also useful if you do not have a Fediverse profile, or if you simply do not have many followers there. Your request does not depend entirely on the size of your own social network to reach people, because mutualaidspace.org has its own amplification infrastructure.
mutualaidspace.org does not retain your email address or other contact information. The email address entered into the form is only used to notify you when the post is automatically taken down after one week.
A Fediverse profile is already a social media profile where you can separate yourself from your IRL identity. But when asking the general public on the worldwide web for solidarity and material support, mutual aid seekers are often among the people in the most vulnerable position online. They may still go out of their way to reveal who they are, their circumstances, and other personal information because asking strangers for support often comes with pressure to prove that the need is real.
The form does not remove that reality, but it provides a semblance of a barrier between the mutual aid seeker, their own social media profile on the Fediverse, and general netizens. The request can still travel through the Fediverse and the wider web without necessarily making the mutual aid seeker's own social media identity the account being circulated alongside it.
It functions mainly as an amplifier, so please do not use the form as the only place where you put your mutual aid request. You can either paste the link to your own mutual aid request post into the form or write your mutual aid request manually.
The point is to help the request travel further while giving the person asking for support a little more control over how directly their social media identity is attached to that circulation.

So after denying their officers lied to courts, the MI5 has now admitted that it has presented untruthful 'evidence';
quite apart from the particularities of this case, what will strike many is that MI5 often offers 'secret' evidence which is unable to be tested in terrorism-related cases; it cannot be probed or tested in court.
This has always depended on the veracity of evidence offered, and now this can't stand. Expect this to have wider ramifications!

One of the 'legitimate concerns' about immigration is that foreign nationals are 'taking our jobs';
but actually what is mostly happening is that skilled immigrants are replacing skilled emigrants; skilled younger workers are leaving & their 'places' are being taken by skilled immigrants.
Of course, many unskilled jobs are also being taken by migrants, but the key issue isn't really the level(s) of migration but the range & type of jobs that are on offer in the UK!
If in the next month or so there's a global financial crisis driven by a shift in sentiment on AI & related technologies, or because rising bond yields have led to a flight from shares, it will hardly be a surprise.
Financial crisis are usually followed by the identification of the few analysts who correctly predicted them, but this time, there is no shortage of speculation about how, when & how big the crisis will be.
Perhaps that's a sign it *won't* actually happen?
