As a child, I did not do well with the box of rocks in the geology session of science class. Separated from their environment, neatly docketed in their little spaces, they little held my interest.

But out in the real world where the rocks "lived," I was fascinated by their texture and form, color, placement, shape.

- If you don't have easy access to a physical copy that can be photographed or scanned, there is no need to reply.

I have a request and I think the Fediverse is the place where I might find help with this.

For more than 2 years I've been looking for a copy of Nature: specifically volume 353 issue 6341. It's the 19 September 1991 issue.

I need a good photograph or scan of the cover art. You can keep the magazine. My FIL has an article in it and my BIL and husband want to make a gift that uses the cover art.

Today I was taking some yard waste down to the compost pile and I encountered this cute fawn doing its best to remain perfectly still. I like that it can fit through the fence but none of its predators can. Today it was able to relax safely in the shade. Its only disturbance was this clumsy oaf dragging his yard waste through the woods. I kept an eye on it from our deck. I hope momma recognizes the safety of our yard and returns her baby tomorrow.
