I hiked a large sand dune for the first time yesterday. What a unique experience! Quite a slog, hiking straight up the side to reach the ridge. A surprise with the challenge of walking the ridge— didn’t expect it to be so sharp. The drop-off on each side looked steeper/scarier than it actually was. A fun time! A mushroom about three inches tall grows from leaf litter on the forest floor. It is a classic umbrella shape mushroom with a small purple and tan on its cap. The rest of the cap is a soft lavender. It is perfectly round. The stem is harder to see but shares the same colors as the stem.
