去年公布动画化的星野亮原作小说《THE THIRD》，目前正式定名为《THE THIRD～苍之瞳的少女》，动画预计在今年4月13日开始播放，并且根据小说的第一卷《THE THIRD～蓝色瞳孔的剑客～》改编，担任动画制作的是制作过《苍穹的法芙娜》的XEBEC。该片和4月档的《凉宫春日》一起，为今年的轻小说改编动画铺路……
《THE THIRD》是星野亮的长篇奇幻小说，曾经入选1999年的第10回日本奇幻长篇小说大奖。目前已经发行了9卷长篇小说和5卷短篇以及以一位名叫MJ的男子为主人公所描写的《Thethird 0》1卷，长篇小说依然在富士见文库的月刊上连载，小说的插画是由着名的漫画家后藤なお担当。去年公布动画化消息之后，12月开始在月刊《DRAGON AGE》上开始连载漫画，由新人伊藤有子执笔。

该作品1977年诞生，于1980年被剧场版动画化，由竹宮惠子描画的SF漫画『奔向地球』，时隔30年后被TV动画化，将于4月全新登场！
原作中描写的社会，遭到环境破坏，高度依存计算机，跟我们目前生存的世界十分相似。在那样的一个世界中，对于一群年轻人来说，何谓“正义”，何谓“希望”？
《地球…》是少女漫画家竹宫惠子连载于《月刊漫画少年》1977年1月号到1980年5月号上的SF漫画作品。共由四个部分构成。该作曾获得过1978年的SF大赏——星云赏漫画部门赏，以及第25届小学馆漫画赏。该漫画已决定制作TV版动画，并于今年4月发送。担任动画监督的是山崎理，机械理念设计为出渕裕，人设为结城信辉。
