Even though Yuuichi Ezaki is in the hospital recovering from an illness, he's constantly sneaking out. One day he's caught by the head nurse, who makes a deal with him: she'll overlook his future excursions if he's willing to befriend a new patient, Rika Akiba. Due to a serious heart condition, Rika has spent most of her life in the hospital, and doesn't really have any friends. As Yuuichi and Rika spend time together and learn more about each other, their relationship soon blossoms into romance...

Natsume has been busy, navigating between humans and Yokai when he coincidentally reunites with an old classmate, Yuki. It brings back painful memories of a certain Yokai. Yorie knew much about Reiko, but now lived a peaceful life with her only son, Mukuo. Being with this family was comforting for Natsume, but apparently a mysterious Yokai has been lurking in their town.
On the way back from investigating, a "Yokai seed" that had latched itself to Nyanko Sensei drops into the Fujiwaras' garden and grows overnight into a fruit tree. When Nyanko Sensei eats a fruit that is somehow shaped like himself, he suddenly splits into three!

《夏目友人帐系列》改编自绿川幸创作的漫画，动画由朱夏负责制作。主要讲述了从小就能看见妖怪的少年夏目贵志自从他继承了外祖母收妖怪作小弟时作为证明写有妖怪名字的“友人帐”之后，就一直过着被妖怪追逐的日子。后来遇到自称保镖的妖怪猫咪老师，自此在它的陪伴下，决定将名字还给妖怪的夏目，开始和各式各样的妖怪相遇，并逐渐理解妖怪内心的想法。在和妖怪的相遇离别，以及了解心地善良的妖怪们的回忆的过程中，夏目不知不觉得到了很多珍贵的东西。

CLAMP的人氣漫畫《TSUBASA 翼•年代記》繼推出TV版、劇場版動畫之後，確定將發售全3卷描寫《東京 砂之國篇》的OVA動畫。
OVA將以《TSUBASA-RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE- TOKYO REVELATIONS》為名，採非賣品方式作為漫畫單行本第21～23卷的初回限定版贈品，全三卷分別命名為《魔術師の伝言》、《少年の右目》、《姫君の視た夢》。
此外，該OVA將由CLAMP的大川緋芭親自撰寫腳本，並由曾製作劇場版的Production I.G繼續擔綱，監督多田俊介，人設菊地洋子，CAST不變。

随同去年9月底《超时空要塞F》最终回放送结束之际，TV动画片尾便登布了剧场版制作的消息，广大死忠为之虎躯一震，翘首以待。在2009年1月发售的Macross系列作品的综合杂志《Macross Ace》Vol.001当中，些许剧场版情报流出，其中在河森正治总监督＆菅野洋子特别会谈中，两位业内人士对将在2009年上映的《超时空要塞MF》剧场版进行了将近3小时的对话，从中我们得知了剧场版将计划让库兰往爱情方面发展，补足TV中的遗憾，原本在TV中河森神棍的许多建议未被采纳的建议今回将在剧场版中表现出来，而剧中也许会对TV系列进行回顾，引用河森的说法便是为了能让初次接触MF的人对该作有个大概的了解，所以在角色的立场上会有所变动，而至于库兰是否顶替双歌姬的位置菅野洋子回答有机会的话会尝试。
在忙碌于剧场版制作将近半年的时间内，6月份发售的《Macross Ace》Vol.002终于闪亮登场，同时还带来了两则关于剧场版的消息。其一为剧场版《超时空要塞F》将于11月21日正式上映，加入了冬季剧场放映档期。其二为剧场版《超时空要塞F》标题正式定为“虚空歌姫”，而杂志图中绿坝娘兰华李惊现真实二字，腹黑状态的雪露女王只搭配了嘘字，难不成在剧场版中将要揭示绿坝娘才是阿尔特的最终翅膀么！？那么之前《Macross Ace》Vol.001中透露的库兰为主角又是怎么回事！？河森神棍你必须给我们一个交代啊！河森你有什么不开心的事？说出来让大家开心一下，请不要黑雪露好吗？
