Nov. 26, 2024 Review Os Garotos Perdidos (The Lost Boys, 1987) - Postado originalmente em 01/09/2009 em: Especial: Joel Schumacher – Parte 1 | Frank Castle Blog Quem tem mais de 20 anos, com certeza, já deve ter visto este filme na Sessão da Tarde. Assim como outros filmes que vou falar a seguir, não sabia que Garotos Perdidos foi dirigido por Joel Schumacher. O elenco é composto por Kiefer Sutherland (mais conhecido hoje como Jack Bauer) e várias figurinhas carimbadas dos anos 80: Corey Haim (de “Bala de Prata” e “Licença para Dirigir”), Corey Feldman (de “Conta Comigo” e “Goonies”), entre outros que você com certeza irá reconhecer. Este já é um filme mais divertido, mas ainda assim com um certo suspense. Assisti ele novamente para fazer esta resenha e digo que ele continua muito bom, prende a atenção do começo ao fim. Devido a um divórcio e dificuldades financeiras, Lucy (Dianne Wiest) decide ir morar com seu pai e parte para a cidade de Santa Carla junto com seus 2 filhos: Sam (Corey Haim) e Michael (Jason Patric). Logo ao chegarem na cidade, acabam tendo um choque ao ver várias pessoas largadas ao léu e gente revirando o lixo em busca de comida (aqui, o diretor mostra mais uma vez o lado “podre” dos EUA). Ao chegar na casa de seu avô, Michael pergunta se é verdade que Santa Carla é a “Capital Mundial do Crime”. (pois viu isso escrito em uma pichação na entrada da cidade). Ele solta a pérola: Deixe-me apenas dizer o seguinte: Se todos os corpos enterrados por aqui resolvessem se levantar de seus túmulos, teríamos um problema de superpopulação! Michael parece não levar isso a sério, Sam fica um pouco impressionado, apesar disso saem para conhecer melhor o lugar. O irmão mais velho, fica vidrado em Star (uma garota que vê em um show a céu aberto na praia) e começa a segui-la. Ele acaba conhecendo uma gangue de motoqueiros liderada por David (Kiefer Sutherland) e acaba cedendo as suas provocações. Já Sam, encontra uma loja de revistas em quadrinhos e conhece 2 “figuras”: Alan Frog e Edgar Frog (Corey Feldman). Os irmãos começam a abordá-lo falando sobre Vampiros e lhe oferecem uma revista sobre o assunto. Depois dizem que pode considerar a revista como um “manual de sobrevivência” e que o telefone deles está no verso da mesma. Ao se enturmar com o bando de David, Michael acaba bebendo o que achava ser vinho, mas começa a ter modificações em seu corpo: Daí descobre que David e sua gangue são vampiros! Sam, ao ver que o reflexo de seu irmão quase não aparece no espelho, se assusta e liga para os irmãos Frog. A partir daí, o filme segue num ritmo bem alucinante e ocorrem várias reviravoltas. Recomendado para quem gosta dessa temática de Vampiros. Nota: Em 2008 saiu uma continuação: “Garotos Perdidos 2: A Tribo” (Lost Boys: The Tribe). Porém este já não é mais dirigido por Joel Schumacher.

Nov. 16, 2024 watched Excelente documentário. Há entrevistas com Gabe Newell, diversos membros da equipe de produção, incluindo desenvolvedores e o roteirista (Marc Laidlaw).

Falam dos bastidores de produção até brigas judiciais com a distribuidora. Mas os pontos altos são aqueles em que cada responsável por uma parte comenta como as ideias foram concebidas e vemos o trecho em questão no jogo. Para citar alguns exemplos: expressões faciais, física, puzzles, uso de veículos, inteligência artificial dos inimigos etc.

Falam sobre como a parte da Gravity Gun "turbinada" foi algo não planejado inicialmente.

Também há comentários sobre as "expansões": Episode One e Episode Two. Neste último, o cara que concebeu a mecânica do trecho final a explica enquanto rolam as imagens do jogo. É minha parte favorita, mas não costumo dar os detalhes para não estragar para quem ainda não jogou.

Por fim, o documentário encerra mostrando cenas inéditas (ao menos para mim) do desenvolvimento inicial do Episódio 3, como uma arma que cria barreiras e até rampas de gelo:

Também explicam porque o Episódio 3 não foi lançado. Se é uma justificativa sincera ou não, não sei. Mas faz sentido: muitos membros da equipe trabalharam por mais de 8 anos na franquia, que é conhecida por sempre trazer uma grande inovação em relação aos jogos anteriores. E parecia não haver espaço para isso desta vez. Particularmente, acho que eles também têm medo de manchar a imagem desta propriedade intelectual. Fato é que elevaram tanto a barra, que fica difícil superar o patamar que chegaram. Acredito que jamais veremos Half-Life ² Episode Three ou Half-Life³.

Há uma parte engraçada em que o detetive insiste em continuar investigando o caso, mesmo não manjando nada de TI:

- Na faculdade, ele criou um aplicativo, para os alunos compartilharem trabalhos. Mas o código-fonte estava aberto. Para o público.

- Bem, vamos antes que feche.

- Não, não é como uma loja aberta. É chamado de código aberto. É um software com código-fonte que qualquer pessoa pode modificar ou distribuir.

PS: Acho que é a primeira vez que vejo menção a Código Aberto em um filme.

Nov. 10, 2024 watched Segundo filme mantém o nível e talvez seja até melhor que o primeiro. Uma parte se passa no Vietnã e trabalha bem o ar cômico com um personagem do filme anterior. É uma vibe estranha: lembra um pouco os filmes do Jackie Chan, mas com muito mais violência e seriedade.

Nov. 10, 2024 watched Para quem gostava daqueles filmes de ação com pitadas de comédia dos anos 1980 e 1990, essa franquia é uma grata surpresa. Detalhe interessante é que, ao menos no filme, os policiais e criminosos não usam armas de fogo. Então, a vibe é aquela de porradaria e uso de armas brancas, no estilo Old Boy.

June 15, 2013 watched Para o #TerCinema cujo tema é "filmes adaptados de livros que foram melhores que os livros originais", trago "Drive" (2011). Adaptação do livro homônimo de James Sallis, de 2005. Lembro bem pouco dele, mas fora uma referência a Mad Max e esse trecho engraçadinho a seguir, não me empolgou muito à época (alguns dizem que foi mal traduzido):

"a criança que se aproximava deles, cambaleando, sonolenta, vinda do quarto. – Sua? – ele perguntou.

– Elas costumam vir com o apartamento. O lugar está infestado de baratas e crianças. Acho melhor você checar o seu armário e olhar debaixo da pia da cozinha."

Não lembro se esta parte foi inserida no filme. Mas o longa tem uma atmosfera envolvente, com sua trilha sonora e ar soturno.
