Of course I'm sure that browsing the web, especially with multiple tabs open and in-memory, will quickly push it to/over its limits, but likewise, with some smart software choices and a more focused mindset, this could totally work fine for various use-cases.
My use-case is primarily that I'm running Windows XP (which it natively supports, yay for me!) on it as a light-weight setup that gets me to enjoy the last good version of Windows. Some say it's 7. I'd probably have to reluctantly agree on technical levels, but XP is where it's at for me. This, in part, because XP was also the last version of Windows I actively used, before switching fully to OS X — and Linux after that, of course.
I'm in the live environment as I wanted to dd the SSD with the current XP-and-7 installation before making some changes to it. It's easier to do that within Linux, but also because just wanted to see how Mint feels on this hardware. I left enough space on the internal SSD available, thinking I might actually want to put Linux on there too.
It's certainly lovely to see such a modern OS running on such "outdated" hardware. Maybe especially so because it's connected to a CRT monitor 😄.

At @Vivaldi, we have chosen to include a lot of features not found in any other Web browser. This includes our mail client, calendar, task manager and feed reader. This is all a part of moving away from Big Tech as you can check your mail and calendar in Vivaldi and gradually move your mail service from Big Tech to one of the many mail services available, but access both from Vivaldi. This is the benefit of keeping the mail server and the mail client separate.
The feed reader is another great feature which allows you to subscribe to your favorite new sources and have them displayed in chronological order.
The calendar works with online services, but can also be used locally.
Have a look!

Looking for a minimalistic journal app? Give TowiTowi a try. It runs on Android, Windows and Linux, so you can sync the notes you started on mobile and finish them on the desktop.
Of course you can use it for all kinds of notes. I'm using it now for writing a novel ♥️

《The complaint quotes a Microsoft representative describing the GDID as “a persistent, device-level identifier designed to uniquely identify an installation of a Windows operating system on a device, either a physical device (e.g., a mobile phone or laptop) or virtual machine, across certain Microsoft services and scenarios.”》
《Microsoft only told the public about it once a court forced the issue.》

Okay people, new instance, new #Introduction!
I'm Andre, a (mostly) backend software engineer and accessibility specialist from Ukraine living in Strasbourg, France.
I'm married and happy, we have two cats.
My main interests are #Technology, #Books, #Music, #Languages, #Accessibility.
I'm blind from birth, if it matters (it may, because I will ask for image descriptions if you send me images without alt text).
My operating system of choice is #Windows, my AI coding assistant is #ClaudeCode, my smart speaker assistant is #AmazonAlexa.
I use my phone far more seldom than 99% of you, preferring my laptop.
I love various kinds of music, especially renaissance and traditional folk music of most peoples of the world.
I'm Pagan, but I revere Jesus christ and his Mother Mary (it might sound complicated, so ask if interested, I'm open to such discussions), so Christians won't see any blasphemy in my posts.
I like talking politics also, but in our times it becomes tougher and tougher, as many people tend to take bold actions if you disagree with them politically. Long story short: I'm pro-Occidental, pro-American, pro-European, leaning right.
I'm in the beginning of develloping our small business (together with my wife, of course). We have some smaller pieces of software and libraries, also my wife has finished a hexalogy (six-book series) of fantasy novels, for now in Russian, but I hope we'll find ways to translate at least into English and French.
That was long already, so ask for more. Oh yeah, I'm a language nerd!
