Visiting websites in this 'modern' time is a paradox: standard Web technologies are better but most commercial websites are pretty terrible—not only because misinformation abounds online, but also because of Big Tech's personal data farming that puts us all at a disadvantage.

So Mozilla has apparently just reconsidered their stance on JPEG XL! That is, going from ‘nope lol’ to ‘rust ftw lol’. Which reads like a rather ungraceful turnaround, but it is a turnaround, so… kudos to Mozilla for correcting some of their wrongs!
(They say the requirement is for memory safety, which seems fair enough, but I do wonder why they needed three freaking years just to decide this was their main concern. Yay for efficiency, I guess.)
