I love my #ThinkPad P14s Gen 1 AMD and running #FreeBSD it sleeps and wakes from sleep without issue. But when I try #OpenBSD on it, It does sleep you see the ThinkPad LED pulsing indicating sleep. But when I go to wake, It just sits on a blank screen and all you can do is force it off and on again. Anybody have similar experiences ??

OK Not that I have anything against #OpenBSD but I'm going to install #FreeBSD 15.0 onto my #ThinkPad again as I do miss ZFS and the extensive #Wayland selection of apps too. Ok I miss full color emoji in the terminal too you got me. But I do still have OpenBSD running on my Dell Optiplex 3080 Tower so I can keep up with developments as I do still like what it is and what they stand for. I guess I'm just a #BSD girl and I like them all. #RunBSD

Do I want an Intel or AMD based refurbished Thinkpad for Linux in 2026? Is Intel still the best supported platform or won’t it matter much anymore?
Linux 6.19.4 Released
Linux 6.19.4 is now available as a stable update in the 6.19.x series, bringing small but important fixes across the kernel.
This release includes:
I’ve also updated my ThinkPad X220 (used as a testing machine), and it continues to run perfectly fine on 6.19.4.
I’m building the kernel using the original SlackBuild scripts from Slackware-current’s testing tree, preserving the official packaging structure and only updating the upstream source.
Build notes are documented here:
