A large tree trunk stands on the right, scarred where a branch was cut, but still alive with orange leaves clinging to its younger branches.
This is how I see the world. The bare trees, what we notice most, seem dead, like today's civilization: governed by hatred, coldness, selfishness, rampant individualism. But at the base, the grass is green. Because at the base, there are wonderful people who often go unnoticed, yet they are the most important part of everything. The stream connects it all, starting from that living green, reflecting the golden light, flowing toward the horizon beneath the bare branches. Perhaps relationships, perhaps time, perhaps simply the reminder that everything flows and transforms. And beyond: light and color, because life can give us far more than these bare "trees" show right now. And the trees themselves, if not rotten inside, will bloom again.
I intentionally increased the saturation to create this contrast: to flood the scene with light.

This is an Autumn season photo of a very mature deciduous tree alongside a hiking trail. Many leaves have already fallen to the ground and the leaves remaining on the tree are a mix of green, yellow and orange. It was taken on a fair weather day with traces of the blue sky visible through the branches. The sunshine creates an illuminating effect on the leaves in the upper branches. The tree looks somewhat majestic and strong in terms of it's presence in the forest.

I hiked a large sand dune for the first time yesterday. What a unique experience! Quite a slog, hiking straight up the side to reach the ridge. A surprise with the challenge of walking the ridge— didn’t expect it to be so sharp. The drop-off on each side looked steeper/scarier than it actually was. A fun time! The Garden Of The Gods is a beautiful geological area just outside of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The Garden is a public park open and free to the public. This area shows geological evidence that this area has been visited as far back as 1300 years BC. There is also known connections with at least eight Native American tribes.

I’ve taken many shots like this, every year, with the same subject and in the same place. Yet I’m still fascinated by this perspective.
This one is from just a few hours ago: the sunset and the "fragile" flower. A breath of wind will be enough, and the flower, as we see it, will vanish. Yet it will be everywhere, spreading itself across the world.
There it stands, swaying in the gentle air and the soft warmth of a November sunset, defying whatever happens around it.

No yesterday, no tomorrow - just here, now, basking in this poetic light.

And life, silently, flows on.
