Mastodon is currently using between 9 and 10 GB of media storage, so it seems to have reached a sort of balance. I'm getting the hang of Ruby and have a general overview of the architecture. However, CSS changes and precompiling aren't showing any updates yet. I’ll read through some documentation to troubleshoot. #Mastodon (Thread)

Some of you might have noticed that I disappeared and then started to follow you again. The reason for this is that I recently decided to migrate to Pixelfed and in that process, I lost 500 followers and most of the accounts I used to follow.

I then tried to migrate from Pixelfed to Mastodon - but migration from Pixelfed was/is not possible. There is no alternative to migrate from Pixelfed.

So I advise everyone to think twice before migrating and read the fine print.

Hey Tooters - If you are linking to YouTube videos, don’t use the “Share” function in YouTube to generate the link. Copy and paste the URL from your address bar.

Using the “Share” function generates a generic preview in Mastodon, whereas cutting and pasting the actual URL gives a nice preview for the video, including the title.
