Please educate newcomers on using bridgy fed to bridge their accounts to the #Fediverse this is an excellent tool for not needing an account on bsky and #Mastodon while strengthening the open social web. Das Online-Treffen findet auf unserem BigBlueButton-Server statt. Du benötigst keine zusätzliche Software, sondern nur einen Browser – vorzugsweise Firefox oder Chrome – ein Mikrofon (es handelt sich schließlich um eine Sprechstunde) und, wenn du möchtest, eine Webcam. Wir freuen uns auf einen lebhaften Austausch! 🎙️ 🙋‍♀️

Der Ablauf der Sprechstunde sieht folgendermaßen aus: Zu Beginn geben wir Tipps und Hinweise für Anfänger und Einsteiger. Anschließend geht es um Ratschläge für Instanzbetreiber und Moderatoren. Ein solcher Austausch ist wichtig und notwendig für eine gute Vernetzung untereinander. Es wird nicht nur um Mastodon gehen, denn die Welt des Fediverse ist weitaus größer. Mehr Miteinander statt Gegeneinander.

Je mehr mitmachen, desto besser!

If any Mastodon admins are dealing with spam account sign-ups, it's worth noting that these accounts seem to universally use disposable email providers and burner email address. There's a GitHub repo that tracks these providers. All moderation inquiries are sent to a user's email on Mastodon, so there's no legitimate reason any Mastodon user should be using a disposable email address. As such, there's a git repository that tracks these disposable email providers. There are also bash scripts that will import the repository into tootctl for you.

Simply clone the repo and copy the bash script onto your server, then edit the script to point at your Mastodon installation and the directory you cloned the repository to, and it should handle the rest.

Side note: I checked our logs and we had a huge spike in attempted sign-ups from a bunch of different disposable email addresses this week, so I can confirm that blocking them definitely works. ​

So I've been running my own #Snac instance for the past week and I have to say that I'm actually loving it. It hardly takes up any resources and the inbuilt web interface is easily configurable with nothing more than #CSS .
There are some things that folk used to running #Mastodon might not like. For example it does not show any follower or following numbers to any instances. So people using Mastodon will see 0 followers and 0 following even though those Snac uses may have 100's of followers .
You do get a people tab on the snac interface that is just a list divided into people following you and people you follow but no numbers. This is an intentional design feature by the author @grunfink who stated.

I haven't implemented a simple count of following / followers on purpose; I consider all metrics in network media inherently toxic, because it's a way of comparing the relative success of people. This is also why, as seen from other Fediverse implementations, snac accounts always report 0 / 0 connections.

Also not all features work with android / iOS apps but most of the essentials do. I occasionally use #Tusky when I'm not just using the web interface for Snac which I just find easier. I think I will be staying with this fantastic lightweight piece of software and look forward to see what new features get added in the future. A wish would be to have a way of importing followers from Mastodon to Snac, which I think the dev is working on at the moment. Oh and I nearly forgot to say that you can import the CSV file of people that you are following through the command line and it's fairly simple to do too. I'd 100% recommended giving Snac a try if you're looking for a no nonsene lightweight #Fediverse instance.

そのフォローしているマストドンIDのページに行くと、投稿が見れる（画像）。

その逆、マストドンからはホームTLにフォローしたThreads IDの投稿が出る。

これはThreadsが意図的に行った作り。
正直、悪意に満ちていると思った。

Threads民に、「こうやってつながったから」と改めてマストドンを勧めるにも、マストドンはThreads TLに反映されないという不便な印象を与えているため、難しい。現状、あまりフェディバース共有開始を語るべからず。
進化に期待。

We do. There's a ton of them. They reach hundreds to millions of people.

The real issue, is that social media algorithms promote what is popular. And what's popular is garbage. And conservatives are great at making garbage.

Until we crack down on biased algorithms, non-Conservative content will always be sidelined.
