<p>Lots of new folks taken interest in to Mastodon, because of Meta. <p>Some of you have already heard of us as <a href="/tags/fedify/" rel="tag">#Fedify</a> Studio. We now have a proper name: <a href="https://drfed.org/" rel="nofollow">DrFed</a>, short for “Doctor Fed.” We've also just received funding from <span class="h-card"><a href="https://social.nlnet.nl/@nlnet" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>nlnet</span></a></span>, through the <a href="https://nlnet.nl/project/DrFed/" rel="nofollow">NGI0 Commons Fund</a>.</p><p><a href="/tags/drfed/" rel="tag">#DrFed</a> is a web app for debugging <a href="/tags/activitypub/" rel="tag">#ActivityPub</a> interoperability failures. A few days ago, I boosted a photo I liked, posted by someone who shares many photos and with whom I've never interacted. Yesterday, this person blocked me. Considering that I haven't posted anything, I am really puzzled trying to figure out the reason behind it. Maybe it's because I don't show the number of followers and following?<br><a href="/tags/fediverse/" rel="tag">#Fediverse</a><br>

<p>Question for my fellow <a href="/tags/fediverse/" rel="tag">#Fediverse</a> <a href="/tags/tech/" rel="tag">#Tech</a> enthusiasts: </p><p>Imagine your friend is on the fence about joining <a href="/tags/mastodon/" rel="tag">#Mastodon</a>, and they ask:</p><p>"What is an instance, anyways?"</p><p>What is your go-to answer? </p><p>The email provider comparison is common, but maybe over-used, or too technical? </p><p>What other metaphors/explanations do you have up your sleeves?</p>
<p>It’s amazing how quickly Pixelfed has gained traction over the last few days. <br>Even more incredible that given the numbers signing up, <span class="h-card"><a href="https://pixelfed.social/dansup" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>dansup</span></a></span> has pretty much managed to keep it going (barring the odd, small, hiccups). </p><p>Thanks Dan, and <span class="h-card"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@pixelfed" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>pixelfed</span></a></span> for giving us the alternative to something else!</p><p>If you fancy slinging them a few quid/bucks to show your support, you can do that here:</p><p><a href="https://pixelfed.org/support-our-project" rel="nofollow" class="ellipsis" title="pixelfed.org/support-our-project"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">pixelfed.org/support-our-proje</span><span class="invisible">ct</span></a></p><p><a href="/tags/pixelfed/" rel="tag">#pixelfed</a> <a href="/tags/fediverse/" rel="tag">#fediverse</a></p>
<p>The <a href="/tags/us/" rel="tag">#US</a> has "Truth Social" (build on Mastodon code) kinda as it's "official social media"</p><p>And <a href="/tags/europe/" rel="tag">#Europe</a> has it's own <a href="/tags/mastodon/" rel="tag">#Mastodon</a> instance in the <a href="/tags/fediverse/" rel="tag">#Fediverse</a> </p><p>I know what I'd prefer!</p>
