I was really excited for the #Fediverse in 2024 and I think that feeling has borne out. Projects have released or started in earnest but so did the influenze of facebook, a long-term genocide and queer violence supporter who have this week changed their terms to expressly permit queerphobic and other vicious harms.
The #US has "Truth Social" (build on Mastodon code) kinda as it's "official social media"
And #Europe has it's own #Mastodon instance in the #Fediverse
I know what I'd prefer!
🦩🍸Martini and Mingo 🍸🦩 A tropical vibe with a little bit of whimsy. Happy Tuesday. 😊 https://1-lisas-baker.pixels.com/featured/martini-and-mingo-lisa-s-baker.html

Let me explain:
I have two accounts on the #fediverse
1. This one: @shojiwax On which I post links to my website articles PLUS a general stream of consciousness remarks links, boosts and comments.
2. https://mastodon.au/@shojiwax.com@shojiwax.com this is a direct feed from my website and includes full text of my writings. Sorta like subscribing to my #blog’s RSS feed.

I just want to take a moment to call out one particularly great contributor to the Fediverse, @dansup (aka @dansup@mastodon.social) and just say that Pixelfed and Loops are just great. Thanks for doing what you do and being who you are!
If you want to know about Pixelfed (https://pixelfed.org) or Loops (https://loops.video) check out their respective websites and send your props to Dan!

Interested in the #Fediverse and #SocialWeb but can't be at #FOSDEM? All the talks are livestreaming at https://live.fosdem.org/watch/h2215, come watch!

The theme of 2025 seems to be #cybertruck with something awful happening in the photo:
#Fedle received several fixes.
- Spanish now treats Ñ as its own letter, and its dictionary has been improved.
- It also fixes federation issues for #Misskey and #Sharkey.
- Announcements and results now have a dedicated tag per language, like #Fedle_es, #Fedle_en etc.
#Fedle is a daily word game on the #Fediverse.

Created a little intro to the Fediverse. Going to post this on proprietary apps. Feel free to distribute. :) #Fediverse
I think Phanpy probably has the best UX/UI when it comes to image posting, it's simple, everything is at your fingertips without having to click fifteen times everywhere.

Bonfire has just released a new version, which includes initial support for Mastodon API endpoints (interested how this will work, as Bonfire has sooo many more post control options)
And…initial work on an ActivityPub C2S API!

Organizers Log:
I have been looking for a new location for FediCon 2026.
The location we used for FediCon 2025 is very nice — but also very expensive. (I paid for it out of my own pocket.)
I am trying to find a new location that is either less expensive or, if possible, free.
I'd like to try to keep the ticket prices low. And, one of the biggest things that goes into the ticket price is the cost of the location
There is something incredibly freeing about being able to like a post on Pixelfed without fear of screwing up your algorithm. I find myself just liking cool photos way more frequently now.
A lot of new folks coming to the #fediverse and I need to update, so here's a new #introduction.
I work as a #video guy. An aspiring novelist looking to connect more with the #writingcommunity. My debut novel is with beta readers.
I'm a rare sports fan on #mastodon, cheering the #Packers, #DCU, #USMNT and #USWNT.
Other stuff you can expect: urbanism (#train and #bicycle in particular), #fitness (mostly weightlifting), #newmusic and #gaming (#tabletop and video).
I tend to follow back.

#Fediverse, I need your help.
I have a budget for a small contract to improve #Emissary, and am looking for a talented web designer to create a new default theme for the server.
Highlights:
* Probably ~60 hours of work
* Anywhere in the world
* Must be a good person
Details are here:

Stillness, light, and the quiet rhythm of water. This moody pelican piece feels like an exhale. https://1-lisas-baker.pixels.com/featured/moody-wildlife-pelican-lisa-s-baker.html
