A quick #fediverse refresher:

Phanpy and GoToSocial is a killer combination.
GoToSocial has some great privacy controls, but has no front end by default. https://gotosocial.org
Phanpy, the alternative Mastodon web client, looks really sleek. https://phanpy.social
And it seems pretty easy to run them side by side.
You don't know Snac? But you should: https://codeberg.org/grunfink/snac2
A simple, minimalistic and well documented #ActivityPub instance server written in C, no database needed, totally JavaScript-free, no cookies either, not much bullshit.
A lot of new great stuff in version 2.88, changes that make our Fediverse life easier, "muted words" ... whaaaaaaaat!!? Yes! 🤩

@fedicat I just stumbled over your Fedicat app for #fediverse on iOS. I use it for friendica.dk and it is very promising!
Thank you - we really need this! ❤️

Have you ever noticed #BigTech "shadow banning" open and free platforms like #mastodon? Billionaires and Oppressive Governments benefit from 3 rich dudes controlling the narrative. Corporate powers will never willingly move to the #fediverse.
If a single Mastodon instance had wide spread #CSAM and non-consensual #AI slop porn like the recent #twitter scandal #Apple and #Google would disable downloads instantly.
Is #snac2 a suitable fedi server for a single-person, daily-driver instance, accessed via mastodon apps, interacting with the wider fediverse?
I /think/ I've mostly seen it deployed as a more write-centric service (for info bots/etc) ... but I could be mistaken.#snac #Fediverse #hosting #selfhosting

🐭 Real question:
Sometimes I read negative comments about #Lemmy or even calls to defederate...
Why do some people on the #Fediverse feel so strongly about Lemmy?
Isn't an #opensource alternative to #Reddit a good thing?
Kitty Hot Cocoa for #caturday. Have a good one. https://1-lisas-baker.pixels.com/featured/kitty-hot-cocoa-lisa-s-baker.html
