A question for #Fediverse devs: I’m thinking about better ways to document development of the #ActivityPub stack. This would include explanations, demo code, example snippets, and various sections explaining how to build a fully working Fediverse server, with consideration for all of the FEP documents as well.

What do you, as a developer, feel is currently missing? What information would make your life a lot easier?

I wish the organizers of the #Superman tour here in the #Philippines listed @jamesgunn @jamesgunn@threads.net 's #Fediverse so Filipinos will get curious. 😉

But, then again, the local organizers only know Meta and Elon. 😅

Hello World!

I just spoke with a #US #Senator office about the #fediverse .
In this version of ActivityPub for WordPress, most blocks received a pretty fundamental overhaul of their technical infrastructure, design, and functionality.

The biggest change is almost invisible—all blocks now use WordPress’ Interactivity API under the hood, shedding a substantial amount of load-heavy scripts. On well-optimized sites, this should lead to noticeably quicker load times and improved web vitals.

Let’s dive in and look at each block individually.

Here is a preview design for a (business) card promoting the Fediverse (made in Inkscape).
I plagiarized the idea from @juergen_hubert who has created card templates people can print and give out at protests.
Instead, i'm doing fully designed cards for more generic use. Lending my graphic design skills to the community. I will put these out as print ready files under a (non-commercial) Creative Commons license - so anyone can get a stack cheaply printed themselves to give out places or leave in coffee shops etc.
If there is interest, I will do a bunch of different designs, different languages, and a US size (I'm designing to EU standards). Plus maybe some stickers and posters too?
This particular design is my trademark 'busy with movement' style. I've based the design on the colours and shapes from the official Fediverse logo.

#fediverse #fedi #fedicard #fedihelp #graphicdesign #graphics #inkscape #fedipromo #creativecommons

EDIT2: PeerTube is no longer using WebTorrent for Redundancy - see thread below

PeerTube has RSS feeds with WebTorrent links. You can grab those links and seed whatever content you wish using a WebTorrent client without having to install an entire PeerTube instance.

What does this do? It helps alleviate some of the streaming costs of servers and ensures a smoother experience for everyone on the decentralized web.

Yay for open source platforms!

https://webtorrent.io/desktop/

#Fediverse #PeerTube

We're experimenting with federated geosocial features in Bonfire, free from surveillance capitalism.
Check into your local community garden. Add location to mutual aid requests. Find tools nearby.
Imagine your local fablab or community center sharing check-ins, calendars, events, opening hours - all federated.
