<p>I am looking for experts/<a href="/tags/developers/" rel="tag">#developers</a> who are familiar with <a href="/tags/activitypub/" rel="tag">#ActivityPub</a> and who might be willing to chat with me.</p><p>I have started talking with parts of my network (mainly in D and NL), about how we could make the <a href="/tags/fediverse/" rel="tag">#Fediverse</a> more interesting for content providers and main stream media. This also means attracting ordinary users to join and to find fair and simple ways to support content providers (without <a href="/tags/paywalls/" rel="tag">#paywalls</a>).<br>I have some ideas, but now need more expertise and a deeper look under the hood.</p>

<p>Now I am curious, what's our <a href="/tags/filipino/" rel="tag">#Filipino</a> word for <a href="/tags/fediverse/" rel="tag">#Fediverse</a> and <a href="/tags/socialweb/" rel="tag">#SocialWeb</a> ?</p><p>So far, I these for potential Filipino translation of "Fediverse":</p><p>- bigkisberso (bigkis + uniberso)<br>- sansinukob = used in Filipino astronomy and literature to refer to the "universe" (I personally like this one)<br>- bukob (buklod + sukob) = just my invention</p><p>Other suggestions?</p><p>Since we're talking about the Filipino language (not Tagalog language), this means all Philippine languages are valid. We can combine them together, even use the 6th vowel /ë/.</p><p>But how about "Social Web"?</p><p>I was told that the Filipino for "Internet" is "daigbatan". I'm just not sure though since I can't find information on "batan" other than:</p><p>- Original name of Bataän was Batan, a Spanish word for "log" (🪵) which the province was named after by the Spaniards.<br>- The Ivatan people call themselves in the Ivatan language as "Batan". (Yes, Batanes = Isles of [the] Batan [people]. <p>Fediverse is still the most lively social network I have ever used, since MySpace in 2003. It is better than Twitter or any commercial social media platform ever was. Absolutely love being here.</p><p>The most profound thing about it is the international coverage. After the first wave of enshittification in 2010, algorithms took over, and suddenly as a polyglot I was labeled as Finnish. No more visible international posts, people only saw the Finnish ones.</p><p>I've noticed the same effect in commercial AI. It ignores the fact that I use English online 99% of the time and still replies to me in Finnish despite all instructions. Algorithms and AI label you. They assign you a language, a status, a certain type of person. There's no changing that.</p><p>The Fediverse and Mastodon are delightfully mine, yours, and truly open source - respecting privacy. Nobody's machine can tell you, "You are this, and this is why we do that."</p><p>Fuck labelers and the fog machines. Let me be me. <p>I think I just had THE fediverse moment:<br>Scrolling through my timeline watching text posts, photos, a peertube video...A short video. </p><p>"ah nice MTB video" , I thought. Until I saw the handle: someone@loops. Wait.. I see a loops here. This isn't just a video. This is a video on A DIFFERENT Service. And I can seamlessly interact with it. </p><p>A new service just integrated seamlessly into my timeline. No "connect your account", no "extra app", no "extra login", no, it's just there</p><p>This is <a href="/tags/fediverse/" rel="tag">#fediverse</a></p>

They're asking for more information to help spread around <a href="/tags/capital/" rel="tag">#Capital</a> <a href="/tags/hill/" rel="tag">#Hill</a> in small bite sized easy to understand pieces.
