As Americans, we worship wealth. We equate it with intelligence and wisdom and being good. In reality, it's the antithesis. As every philosopher has ever said, it is the single most corrupting force on the planet. People aren't meant to have this much money and power. Naturally, the first person to hit this ridiculous, meaningless number is an unhappy drug-addled sociopath who is perfectly willing to let people starve or die without the medications they need just so he can grab another headline or make another dollar.
