There was much sound, the crash of the water over the cliffs to the pool below, but there was no noise, really. Not the noise of chatter and blather and empty promises blithely made.

Pacific Paradise

I captured this image on the big island of Hawaii at Waikoloa Beach.
We had been body surfing in the ocean all morning getting pounded by waves and burned by the sun. We stopped at a local bar on the beach and met some friends afterwards. We passed this on the way in and I knew I wanted to capture this on the way out. So of course I spent some time and this is the result.

Mix Canyon Creek

This is a small waterfall half way up Mix Canyon off of Pleasant Valley Road in Solano County. Not an easy shot to get as there are very few places to set up along a narrow dirt road.
Mix Canyon Waterfall is the first image I ever entered into a photography contest. This image took first place in the color landscape category and came in second for best of show.

The Trolls Home

After hiking down under a bridge on Hwy 120 I found this graffiti under the bridge. Isn't there anywhere sacred? Anyways upon seeing the graffiti I knew right away the kind of image I wanted to create.
The title came to me after thinking about the graffiti and asking myself who lives under a bridge. Of course, trolls live under bridges.

Emerald Cascade

A few miles outside of Yosemite Valley but still in the park is a little turnoff on Hwy 120 that mostly goes unnoticed. It's a real shame because at that turn off is this little gem off a waterfall. Cascade Creek drops down from the higher peaks on the north side and then cross under the highway here at the bridge.

My first time at Anengachi Falls.
Accessed from the road using only a drone. A unique feature of the drone is the wide-angle shot, combining multiple shots.
Due to the road conditions, it's a place you can't often visit multiple times.

Seljalandsfoss is a well known waterfall located on the South Coast of Iceland, because it's one of those waterfalls that you can walk behind and get soaking wet. "What IS that?" you stop and ask yourself, then keep walking until suddenly you see it, this clean cascade of movement, surrounded by lush greenery.

It was an isolated area, not far from a crowded park. Everyone wanted to see the waterfall -- which was, indeed, well worth taking time to see -- but few wandered downstream, where the landscape was also worth seeing.

But when you're willing to be one of those few, you discover what the many never do.
