➡️ Thankful the stair lift started working again this morning and that I didn’t have to call the stair lift company. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
➡️ Already thinking ahead to planning a possible vacation in Michigan this summer or fall.
➡️ Had a very helpful and informative conversation with a kind social worker re Dad’s medical needs.
Finishing the night with the #ThreeGoodThings I did to #MoveForward today. (Switching from #OneThing bc I was adding more in each post lol & I want to join y’all in sharing with this hash.)
~ Had lunch with a friend I hadn’t seen in over a year.
~ Reading together with my 17yo — he reads his book, and I read mine! (Guess I did some parenting right!) 📚
~ Loaded my bike on the bike rack and went to Cooper River Park for a 4-mi ride. (It was 67 in SJ today!) 🚲 #NewJersey #3GoodThings
For the past several years, I have been mindfully trying to keep more positivity and less negativity in my little universe.
For me, the Three Good Things tag here is an abbreviated version of my gratitude journal. A big thank you to all of you who participate in this tag - it's wonderful to see so many positive things in today's world.
1. My 91-year-old Dad continues to be an inspiration to me.
2. Thankful for my health, both physical and mental wellbeing. Had some good news last month and I'm so grateful.
3. Thankful for the ability to set the TV so that when it's turned on, it is on the last viewed channel -- today, that's The Rifleman (and not the news or local broadcasts).
👉 The Strawberry Dragon Fruit Refresher at Dunkin' Donuts - I have mine made with water and an extra bit of the flavor. I'm hooked. They can make them with green tea or lemonade, but I like the water the best. My fave used to be when they made it with the coconut milk, but corporate shut that down last year, at least at our location. Eternal gratitude for anyone who can share a recipe so that I can make this at home...I've tried a couple, but it's never the same.....
👉 Thankful for a warm house and fuzzy socks on this cold day in Virginia. It's 8F/-13C here today. Brrrr.....
👉 The new Roku remote arrived today and is charging. It has a rechargeable battery - no more corroded batteries!

1) There was a talk at my local library about the history of transgender medicine in the USA. Given by a doctor who has a practice here.
2) My mom went. She said it was packed, standing room only.
3) Mom signed up to provide free temporary housing for trans people who travel from far away to get treatment at the clinic.
P.S. If you want more details about the town, the library, or the clinic, feel free to DM me.
1. Had lunch w/a student who is majoring in engineering and English. It was a joy to talk to her. We've agreed to read Ruth #Ozeki's The Book of Form and Emptiness and compare notes.
2. Another incredible student recommended Haruki #Murakami's What I Talk about When I Talk about Running. I have started it and it's inspiring me to continue working on another #memoir that is in its infant phase.
3. Rumeysa #Ozturk has been released.
1. Managed to change the ink on our Brother laser printer despite being bamboozled by the wordless IKEA-style instructions. Who knew the drum was connected to each color cartridge? HP never prepared me for this madness.
2. Ventured out to a local garden and was greeted by the koi in the pond. They’re obviously used to being fed when a human appears. I had nothing to offer. I felt bad about because this little guy swam over quickly.
3. Again found a beautiful sunset photo from our vacation last year on Lake Superior. We were staying at a cabin once owned by my grandparents and it was the first time dad and I stayed overnight there in nearly 50 years.

1. Finding a favorite photo in daily memories can really boost my spirits.
2. So thankful for a summer vacation last year when we stayed at a cabin on Lake Superior and I could watch the sun set every single night (photo below)
3. Halfway through the book series by Jessica Ellicott (Beryl and Edwina mysteries, based in England after the First World War) and savoring every moment of this delightful series!
1. Dad’s doctor appointment went well today
2. Cats in boxes, the allure is real (see image)
3. Love clicking the New Shows icon on Mixcloud every day.

1. Thankful for my 91+ year old dad. Despite his frustrations at aging, he continues to show and exhibit much grace and compassion to those around him.
2. Thankful for the cooler weather here in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
3. Thankful for the 2 characters pictured here - our 10+ year old sister and brother black cats. Girlie on the left and Fat Boy on the right. They are as different from each other as they can be.
