As a die-hard fan, I left the cinema dizzy: the visuals detonate—one sword-slash splits a star—but the plot turns “undead apocalypse” into “romance meltdown.” Why does Flora stab her groom? Jealousy, full stop. It fleshes out Ilex’s loneliness yet flattens him into “boyfriend pushed to darkness.” For the devoted, tears; for the critical, jeers. 7/10—five for the light, two for the lingering choke.
Story structure can be good, it can also make it painfully obvious. Personally I prefer not being able to guess the ending after the first chapter... 🤔😁
