Ruby-throated #hummingbird in our front #garden. After the spring migration wave passes I still see one or two that stay around through the summer. Haven’t been able to get any photos of it but yesterday I got lucky, walked out with camera in hand and it was right there at the #zinnias. The numbers will swell in a few weeks and they’ll hang around till the first strong cold front blows through in late Oct or so.

View of a medium sized brook, approximately 20 feet wide, flowing away from the camera. The water that is in the forefront is only about 4 niches deep and you can see the brook bed of solid and small rocks. In the middle of the photo are larger rocks which the water has to skirt around. In the distance the water gets deeper and takes a left turn out of sight. On either side of the brook are ferns and large rocks covered with extremely bright green moss. There are also medium sized evergreen and deciduous trees, mainly in the left bank.

Looking down from a small footbridge on to a section of water in a reservoir. Some of the area beneath the bridge is blocked up (not in photo) causing the incoming water to swirl clockwise. Foam, bubbles and some small leaves can be seen making the circular pattern. The water reflects back a cobalt sky and whitish clouds nearly taking up the entire photo. Along the edges of the water are the reflections of green-leafed deciduous trees and evergreens.
