Looking out onto a brook that runs through the woods. Recent rain has lifted the water level and it moves faster, even creating a few rapids as the water goes away from the camera. The brook is 15-20 feet in width and about 1-2 feet high. The brook is fairly straight and its embankments have dense conifers, with a few birches. Further downstream a fallen tree is traversing the brook. Lots of leaves and ferns are also on the sides.

I took this photo yesterday in a neighborhood in Boise, Idaho. While the leaves on many trees had turned into bright autumn colors, this tree had a particularly bright color.

A dense morning fog fills a quiet forest, turning the background almost white and blurring every edge. A lone figure, seen from behind, walks away along a wide path covered in damp, brown leaves. Above them, bare branches and a few rusty autumn leaves arch into view from either side, framing the misty corridor. The light is diffuse with very low contrast; the trees and shrubs alongside the path fade after a few metres and the distant trees disappear completely, creating a muted, contemplative atmosphere in which no other people, animals or buildings are visible.
