Wilson River Trail: Part 1

I had an amazing weekend, I’m so happy spring is finally here. It’s so freeing to carry everything you need on your back and be completely surrounded by nature. I feel so much safer alone in the middle of the forest than camping along forest roads. I’m considering this spring training while the Cascades are still covered in snow. This trail is ideal for that.

Water, Ice and Snow.

A creek in the snow covered woods is finally starting to melt. Half the creek has clear water, the other half is still covered by a thin layer of ice. The water and ice has a blue tint to it, partially reflection of the blue in the sky. Banks of the creek are covered in snow.
Despite this wintery scene, it is Spring now.

Our #clematis vines are really taking off and starting to bloom. I planted them last year but they were very much underachievers, maybe because of our long hot summer, and after our one hard freeze this winter I thought they might be dead, but definitely not. This variety is called John Paul II 🤷‍♂️.

The pebbles, smooth ovals, are stacked on top of a large boulder, with more blurred boulders in the background. They are all pink except for the small, flatter pebble at the bottom which is paler. The three small pebbles have face and arms drawn on. They look happy, and are slightly supporting themselves on the right, as they lean slightly that way. The tops of two big eyes belonging to the boulder are just visible at the bottom.

I’m an instructor of beginner photographers. On Sunday, I send an email with tips, tricks, articles, pictures, etc. Info I think students can use. It’s for both “regular” camera users and those who shoot with smartphones.

There’s mention of things to do where I am, but it’s mostly for beginning #photography students to help them take better photos - It's NOT for advanced shooters. 😃

For #silentsunday Winter window views.

Photographers will understand:

You get SO EXITED about a cool thing, you WILL hang out of windows / contort at weird angles *trying* to get the perfect shot.

MUCH much later:

1: Slowly realise how bloody freezing you are (in pyjamas/ forgot a coat)

2. How much your back now hurts :(

I think that's so important, not kit or ability level. The fun part. The silly part.
