Saying goodbye to comet A6 Lemmon. It's getting very low, and clouds are increasing in southern New Mexico.

It was a remarkable run of many clear nights.

This is a single exposure on a fixed tripod.

There's a blurred silhouette of a power line, and satellite trails in this image. They belong in the frame because this is the world we have created. It's getting increasingly difficult to escape to pristine nature.

Perhaps the phrase 'pristine nature' is now an oxymoron?

The comet is sporting a whitish dust tail in this evening twilight image. The blue ion tail does not show because this is a single, short exposure and the lingering blue of twilight overwhelms the ion tail.

The brightest star near the comet is η Ophiuchi, also known as Sabik.

A few cirrus clouds are in the starry twilight sky, but they don't mask the comet or its tail.

This cub was flipping rocks and looking for clams, mussels and fish at low tide. It learned by watching its mother. She was a few metres away.

Cet ourson retournait des roches à la recherche de palourdes, moules et poissons à marée basse. Il a appris en observant sa mère. Elle se trouvait à quelques mètres.
