I added a flag to nota.nvim to enable neorg mode, and this is a great improvement for my workflow.

I get to keep the workflow I built around nota with the periodic tasks and agenda view, but I get the benefit of the structured text and tools already built into norg.

Hopefully as norg gets some of the features in the roadmap (eg. GTD / multiple journals). I can shave things off of nota.

ok here’s a short video of what Norganize looks like at the moment.

I think it’s looking pretty good! There’s some animations missing, some tweaks needed for dark mode, aaaand no support for math rendering.

I still need to test the iPad layout, and I want to adapt the state management before I release the code.

The search and open tasks are pretty quick! And everything is synchronized via syncthing/synctrain.

The toolbar, norg parser and norg renderer are all AGPL! (Maybe the text editor too?) the main app will also be AGPL

We have math now! This is built into NorgUI and supports roll-your-own solutions.

I think there’s two things to do before release now:
⁃ Fix state management (I want to match what I have in other apps for maintenance)
⁃ Extract the editor to a library NorgEditor

Here's the latest build of Norganize, I think feature-wise this is what will make release, just a couple of bugs left to squash (eg. a better color for open tasks).

For a few years I’ve been authoring my website in gemtext, which has been helpful in terms of keeping constraints on the text.

When I started, my page was mostly lists of things so it worked pretty well, but now I’ve been adding a lot more text, so I’m not sure if it’s the right tool for it.

I’m considering whether authoring in neorg syntax would be a good fit, then it would already match my notes.

On the other hand, this might be the familiar friction of hitting a constraint and I should instead learn to work with it.
