This photo is an autumn scene that was taken along an accessible hiking trail in a wooded area. The trail is about six feet wide and is mostly covered with fallen leaves. It curves slightly to the left and slightly uphill around a small grouping of very mature trees. About thirty percent of the leaves are still on these trees, displaying a vibrant orangish colour amidst the branches. This photo definitely has an autumn vibe associated with it.

A hollow log was put horizontally as a spout for a natural spring in the forest, the water cascades out of it in a thin drizzle. The log is covered with a colony of brown-gold colored mushrooms with a flat cap. On both sides of the spring, the ground is covered in lush vegetation

Letzte Woche besuchte ich einen meiner Lieblingsorte. Ein abgeschiedener Bergsee, umgeben von einer unglaublichen Bergkulisse. Nur ich und ein paar Steinböcke. Seit gestern gibt es hier nun Schnee und das kleine Tal, in welchem der See liegt, ist dadurch möglicherweise erst im nächsten Juni wieder erreichbar.

Last week, I visited one of my favourite places. A secluded mountain lake surrounded by incredible mountain scenery. Just me and a some ibexes. Yesterday snow arrived, and the small valley in which the lake lies may not be accessible again until next June.

I went for a walk by a neighborhood creek and found myself lingering at the creek's edge, looking for interesting rocks. Then some movement in the water caught my eye; apparently I had disturbed a resident crawdad.

This is the 2nd summer for my purple coneflowers. Last year it was about a 1/3 the size and this year is has already put on more blooms than all of last year.

Purple coneflower is a favorite of mine and a friend was kind enough to let me pull some out of his garden two years ago. That's my favorite way to garden: cheap/free and an early reward 👍.

The petals are a pink-purple.
