Now we're cooking with gas! A 5km walk netted many chanterelles (Cantharellus flavolateritius)(haven't weighed them yet), some fresh dryad's saddle (Cerioporus squamosus), two old men of the woods (Strobilomyces strobilaceus), a black velvet bolete (Tylopilus alboater) and some white-pored chicken of the woods (Laetiporus cincinnatus.) I'll have plenty to share with my friends and family, but my work cut out with the cleaning! #nature #fungi #mushroom #mushrooms #mushtodon #foraging

A countertop is laden with mushrooms. Two large bowls are piled with chanterelles, which are irregular trumpet-fan-shaped mushrooms of a peachy yellow color. Two large lobes of dryad's saddle lay on the table, cream white with a radiating pattern of brown scales. Two meaty cap-and-stem mushrooms that appear to be covered in tufts of black hair are old man of the woods. They are next to the black velvet bolete, a small lumpy velvety black mushroom. Finally, a pile of white-pored chicken of the woods are spread out. They are softly lobed rounded fan shapes that are covered in tiny white pores on one side and radiating soft orange and peach zones on the other.
