monsterdon

Another #Monsterdon is in the can!

Thanks to @Taweret for hosting!

Tonight's feature, #TheRaven , from 1963, was another Roger Corman film. Ties to the Edgar Allen Poe piece were superficial at best, with Richard Matheson (the screenplay writer) choosing to take a comedic view to the project. The film was shot in only fifteen days, and contained a large amount of ad-libbed lines, mostly from Peter Lorre. Highlights included:

• Vincent Price!
• Talking raven!
• Magic potion stew!
• Diabolical Mind Control!
• Raspberry Jam!
• Precious Viper!
• Finger Manipulation Battle!

🫵 QUICK! Inside the stone mouth! 🗿

Tonight, on #monsterdon : It's 1985's The Adventures of Hercules 💪 ! The answer to the question: "nobody really liked the last movie we made, what if we made it again? But kind of different! But not *too* fundamentally different, it's not like these actors have much range!"

Come, be one of us and post along! You won't regret it too much!

Streaming free on Tubi.

Minutes away, on https://miru.miyaku.media/, some sort of cobbled-together Italian Godzilla movie / clip show which Toho pretends doesn't exist \o/
#monsterdon #monsterdondoublefeature #wrongfrogs

On last night's #monsterdon, Lou Ferrigno is tricked into making a sequel to last weeks Hercules (yes https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089271/trivia/?item=tr2392151&ref_=ext_shr_lnk).

Later, in @ryans #wrongfrogs double feature, director Luigi Cozzi mixes Godzilla, WW2 footage and questionable taste into something that shouldn't be, according to our poll and Toho. But it is.

finished watching FantastiCozzi 🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑
Documentary on Luigi Cozzi, director of #Monsterdon #Fantasy #SciFi #BMovies like Starcrash, Hercules etc

Interesting but would have been more so if they had others (e.g. Argento, actors & producers etc) also speaking about him & his films, not just him.

What should our next #Monsterdon movie be?

#rootpost for #monsterdon (hercules in new york)

Is the "smashing people with a board" part of the actual mythology? This was in the Lou Ferrigno movie, too.

#Monsterdon

I'm so confused is this the movie or a preroll or what #monsterdon #monsterdondoublefeature

UH OH.

When this post is about 30 minutes old (at 7 MDT) #monsterdon will unfold the pitiful 3 dimensions of the fediverse into five ... thousand... yeah, five thousand.

Many of us will be watching Critters 4 (1992): CRITTERS IN SPAAAAACE . This horrible move is streaming for free on Tubi (cause c'mon who is going to pay for CRITTERS IN SPAAAAACE) and the shitposting will be of extraordinary magnitude.

Just wait for it.

OR join us (no one can stop you!) OR block the hashtag (someone can stop you, maybe!) OR just enjoy the out of context dreck.

I hope you can see this because we'll be doing it as hard as we can.
