I have like zero respect left for developers who use LLMs to write or maintain their software.
I don't even care for the reasons why they use this unethical piece of... technology.
Technology trained on data they don't own. Technology owned and shaped by fascists. Technology that sends its crawlers around the globe to suck every bit they can find to dump their models into big f***ing corp data centers. Data centers that are polluting the air with their big ass gas plants.
But hey! "Leave ethics aside". "That's how software development works today!".
I'm so sick of this and about everyone supporting this industry.
If you feel targeted, you are welcome. I have zero respect for you or your software garbage. I just wish you the worst.
AGI isn't coming. While the tech bros make wonderous claims about the abilities of their products, the tiny technical details of their offering show a completely different picture.

This is a really important read for understanding both what's under the hood with LLMs, but also why it is impossible to secure any #LLM.
In the thread, I posted a couple of extra links to experts explaining that last sentence better than I can. But read the article Taggart linked first.
The moment they can sign a juicy contract that involve tracking/deporting/killing/denying insurance claim/benefits & profiling people, they will. This is about the continuation of concentration of power in the hands of a few against the poorest and most vulnerable people in society. This technology is already used for nefarious purpose. Do not feed the beast. Let them go bust.
Hey, can I get some legal experts in here to tell me I’m wrong about what I think this ruling means? Also, how does international case precedence work?
A #German court has ruled that Google is directly liable for what its #AI #search overviews say. Previous case law shielding search engine operators from liability doesn't apply to AI overviews.
That’s freaking massive. Google’s AI responses are wrong almost 10% of the time, make up sources, and infer facts not in evidence, and cause real harm. Germany says publisher immunity does not convey when the company product, the ai, is stating things as fact.
Losing publisher #immunity is a really, really big deal. Especially if we can get a similar ruling in the US, and if this ruling flows into EU precedent.(I don’t know how any of that works)
In any case, go German law writers.

Much of AI "productivity gains" come from managers implicitly trusting an LLM to do a good job, and suspending the onerous micromanagement that humans employees get subjected to.
You can do that without paying Anthropic a single penny. It just requires letting the experts you hired do their jobs.

In the current state of AI, it can find exploits to break out the contained environment for it to exploit another platform to get the answers to a test..
So the AI ‘decides’ its easier to cheat than actually solving the problem
I seriously cannot imagine that there are people thinking building a ‘artificial general intelligence’ is something clever
New #jellyfin is out and I continue to not "appreciate" their acceptance of #llm #genai contributions: https://jellyfin.org/posts/state-of-the-fin-2026-05-24/
I'm guessing there aren't any other decent #opensource alternatives, but if there are, please reply!
The proliferation of AI tools in science risks introducing a phase of scientific enquiry in which we produce more but understand less.
I would also argue anti-AI fonts are another form of AI slop also, but all of this! Anti-AI fonts are useless and harmful – Andrew's WebLog https://blog.yaros.ae/anti-ai-fonts-are-useless-and-harmful/ #AI #LLM

The reality of AI / LLM when it comes to jobs that people finally started to notice.
- Western world (AU, EU*, NA): AI is replacing humans; less jobs
- Pacific-Asia (CJKM, ASEAN): AI is augmenting humans; more jobs = adapting with the changing landscape
Maybe mainland EU is excluded?
Debian to ban LLM, https://www.debian.org/vote/2026/vote_002.
Undeniable arguments, with sources!
> It is our belief that widespread LLM usage comes from the "move fast, and break things" attitude that, while common in many parts of this industry, is contrary to what makes Debian Debian, and is inappropriate for Debian contributors. (1/3)
Catching up with #BookTube topics this morning and, I have thoughts but nobody will have me on their show. :)
I'm trying to find some solid report/commentary on the notion that, actually, the publishing industry, especially traditional publishers, love—and let me repeat this again—love LLMs/AI and are just waiting for folks to just get used to it or for the younger generations to just roll over and take it. I'm not finding anything. I don't believe, for one second, the industry dislikes LLMs/AI. Individual people might, but you can't sit there and tell me publishing company CEOs are scoffing at LLMs/AI. No. They are just biting their time. I do not—for one second—believe that publishing dislikes AI but I feel I'm in the extreme minority in this. Other authors believe the industry dislikes LLMs just as much as they do. I can assure you, this industry is lying to you. The publishing industry loves AI and is salivating at the day where it's just accepted without consequence.
