There’s no paywall, and if you sign up (which I greatly appreciate), you get emails about new stories. No ads or promotion. It honestly is infinitely all kinds of sad that I syndicate my blog posts to Facebook, no external link, and everyone eats it up, but if I send someone a link to my website via SMS or something, I get, "Do you publish these on Facebook? Can I just read you on Facebook or Substack? I don't get why you made your own website. Strange."
I get it that my layout isn't for everybody but that's why I don't block reader mode. That's why I have full text RSS. I give *you* the choice but this only seems to alien people *more* not less.
I cannot tell you how so many people actually want to read my things on a closed platform. I’m the exact opposite. I love personal blogs, RSS, and alike, but average readers, I’m noticing, want to read things on closed platforms. Not all of them of course, but enough for me to have to syndicate my work to close platforms to keep an audience

I love independent proposals, so next release of #snac will include support for Webmention. It's a protocol built on top of web standards and part of the IndieWeb. It helps web page maintainers and bloggers to know when one of their URLs are mentioned in other platforms by providing a webhook to receive notifications. In snac's case, all links written in a Fediverse post (directly or using the Markdown format) will be tested for Webmention endpoints and notified if they exist.
I don't know how many web sites out there implement Webmention (I guess very few), but given that it has been very simple to implement, here it is.

Kagi's algorithms prioritize organic, non-commercial sources over ad-heavy or tracker-riddled sites. This really helps to surface unique, human-generated content from smaller blogs, authentic sites and forums.
