Yee-haw! Today – 25 July – is Cowboy Day! 🤠
“Prosaic & glib cartoon art is consigned along with yesterday’s newspaper, to the bin & oblivion; the few great strips lodge themselves in the public’s psyche”

The Atmosphere of My High School Exams in Gaza. ❗
Last year, I finished high school amid war, displacement, famine, and bombardment. During a ceasefire, my school held in-person exams to ensure fair results. I contracted Hepatitis A during the exam period, yet still graduated with 98%, ranking among the highest-performing students across Palestinian Al-Azhar Institutes and earning the highest Physics mark in Gaza that year. Now I’m raising funds to change this reality and reach University of Glasgow. If you're able to help, the link is in my bio. Sharing this campaign could help me reach someone who can.
Your donation will do more than help me attend university. It will give me the chance to build a career in technology, support my family, and create a future beyond war.

In Conversation: Callum McSorley
“I read THE CUTTING ROOM by Louise Welsh and everything clicked into place. Here was Glasgow, as I knew it but also totally different. Welsh had created a Glasgow that had all the glamour and seediness of hardboiled LA. This is what I wanted to write.”
Callum McSorley in conversation with Sindhu Rajasekaran about writing crime fiction & sequels, & his latest novel RAT RACE.

#scotland pals: anyone out there able to temp foster a parrot who's currently in the glasgow area?
here's more info from the gf of the parrot's guardian:
'It's my partner's parrot.
His dad got him, then when he died 12 years ago, my parnter's been taking care of him. He is now getting evicted from his flat in Glasgow and struggling to find somewhere to host. The timeframe unfortunately is unclear. I'd say a couple of weeks at least 🤷♀️'
