Dug out photos taken on the Fuji x100v on the April trip to France. I didn't think these photos were worth editing or posting, but a theme came up while I looked at them again - symmetry. I always find beauty in geometry and perfect shapes. Versailles is very satisfying for that.

6 green and 8 blue equilateral polyhedra tiled face to face. The cross-section of the green units are octagons, and of the blue units hexagons.
I added some #beats for this one.
The different colors of the cells indicate pollen from different species of plants, packed away to be used as food for hungry honey bee larvae.
David G. Wells’ “The Penguin dictionary of curious and interesting…” books are excellent and have been great source of inspiration for me.
They are now are almost 30 years old.
What new entries would you put in these books—either because they’re new after publication, or could have (should have) been included at the time?

This had me captivated for a good five minutes. I just kept watching how the patterns matched up, trying to parse out the connections in my brain.
Who knew an animation of a Rubik’s Cube and some corresponding concentric circles could be so stimulating?
I have absolutely no idea who created it. Tried to find out to no avail. (Happy to edit with a citation if someone knows.)
