We need to talk about something.</p><p>While talking to a colleague about how I recently learned most people have never sat on a crow it came up that she has never been sat on by a cat. Like, not even once during childhood.</p><p>Another colleague admitted they also have never been sat on by a cat.</p><p>My hypothesis is that most people have at one point in their life sat on by a cat.</p><p>🐈🐈⬛🐱 </p><p>Have you ever been sat on by a cat?</p><p>Please boost for scientific accuracy.</p>

<p>After decades of experience with online dating services, I'm convinced that at this point ALL of them are deliberately making themselves useless. It's logical, by capitalist "logic"; if someone meets a suitable match and falls in love, they're lost as a customer - possibly forever.</p><p>So instead the services use sophisticated algorithms to keep good matches dangling just out of reach, teasing users with the possibility of love if they would just pay for premium. </p><p>In other words, it's classic enshittification.</p><p>So I definitely support the idea of a nonprofit Fediverse-based dating service. If this message is seen by anyone other than just myself, my snac2 instance (powered by the proverbial and figurative energy of a 68k Macintosh, if you will) has successfully made the not all too far move from Germany to Norway, as I continue to consolidate my self-hosted services and clean up the convoluted, multi-VPS and literal-hosted-from-home mess that I've created into something mildly more palatable.<br><br>And if not, well, then this was me shouting into the proverbial big void.
