in #Fedicat you can long press on a link preview to share the link in a new post or another app
fedicat
I didn't think the #testflight tester limit was this high, but if it is, there are still 9,650 slots open for #fedicat!
updated the #Fedicat about screen using #linkskit
for friends apps I listed other #Mastodon apps whose source (including tootsdk) I benefited from looking at
#fedicat #fediverse support is made possible by admins running servers of various flavors (and interesting names) that I can test on, such as: wizard.casa, catodon.social, functional.cafe, gram.social, miraiverse.xyz, wienermobile.rentals, friendica.opensocial.space, plasmatrap.com, bytes.programming.dev, eggplant.place, and takahe.staging.django-cast.com
a side benefit of hiding alttextless images in #Fedicat is it will also hide most link preview images which are typically useless stock photos
now by default #Fedicat limits the number of tag and mention buttons displayed, there is a … button to expand
If you sent feedback via testflight for #fedicat three months ago and didn't hear back, it's because feedback was supposed to be turned off but somehow some snuck in, and I don't get notifications (which is why I turned testflight feedback off).
Anyway, thanks for the feedback, and I've logged those issues into codeberg (and fixed a few already, the Spanish localization fixes).
not sure how useful this is but in #fedicat you can view the notifications you received from a specific user
I lopped off five thousand lines of code last week but #fedicat is still growing fast - 35k lines in the fedicat package (which includes customized versions of tootsdk and html2markdown) and 25k lines in the UI. Still, the official mastodon app is over 100k.
just noticed a testflight bug report lying around from a few weeks ago about errors uploading to pixelfed.social, workaround in the latest #fedicat build, the problem is explained in this #impressia issue (they were on the ball and implemented a workaround in May)
#Fedicat now checks the instance nodeinfo for hints on what timelines are viewable and in this case publicly viewable when browsing instances
I started working on #fedicat two years(!) ago just to play around with making a UI that I want, and now I'm spending all my time on it because I'm fascinated by the creative diversity in #fediverse platforms
