图书馆借到一本书，Logotype，结合了平面设计里最喜欢的两个题目，曾几何时我也喜欢自己捣鼓一下 logo，譬如下面这个给回国开木工坊的朋友搞的标志。设计的方向是用他姓的首字母加他常用的蝴蝶榫，第三张是他把这个标志运用到宣传片中的截图，而最后一张是他做的椅子。

The internet has decided — again — that Chris Pratt is the worst Chris, after reports that he and his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, demolished a 74-year-old house by modernist architect Craig Ellwood in order to build a 15,000-square-foot residence. "They also tore up all of modernist legend Garrett Eckbo's original landscaping, effectively turning the nearly one-acre lot into one flat slab," reports Dwell. If you design a system such that you cannot differentiate people from corporations and bots and that’s your defense for calling all of them “users”, you’ve designed a system that conflates people – who are mortal, have feelings, can feel pain and be hurt and who have human rights that must be protected – with the very entities that oftentimes exist to exploit them.
Design for people. Call them people. All else is secondary.

Los Angeles Lakers player and executive Jerry West died today at age 86. He was an Olympic gold winner and became a key figure in the NBA in many ways, not least as the inspiration for its logo. Designer Alan Siegel said he based the logo on a photo of West's perfect dribbling form. "It's the easiest job I ever had," Siegel told CNN Sports, which has the full story plus a tribute to West.

A friend worked in printer/plotter service for a long time. He picked up 3D printing, 3D design, and Photoshop stuff as a hobby. He made the designs for these lightsabers for himself, printed them, painted them - There's no metal in this picture.
