8 inches/20cm of heavy wet snow has blown in 3 days after the ski mountain closed for the year. The drifts were well over a foot deep in some places and I had do a bit of “fatbike cyclocross” to get to town.

Such a lovely sunset during this evening’s 58km ride, you get three pictures, not just one 🥳
Add yesterday’s 67km ride & others earlier, and that makes for 232km this week. Which is decent, all things considered 🤷♂️

South shore (Scituate) loop from Dorchester via Milton.
Stopped at Scituate harbor for coffee and a muffin. The coffee shop doesn’t make espresso??? Only drip coffee 🥹
Btw I might have peed in the woods in Wompatuck State Park. The mosquitoes definitely smelt their meat I’d say. 🦟
Overall great ride. Left early in the morning at 7am when there wasn’t too much traffic. It was cloudy and misty, especially near the coast, but it was nice and cool. I’d take that 100% over the 90+ heat wave 😂. The route is relatively flat - 2000 feet ascend over 58 miles. So I did a lot of sprinting - sprint Saturday it is…

Today's ride in Vermont: Quechee - Hartford VT loop
Biggest enemy today is my own sweat. Somehow a lot of sweat got into my eyes and stung my right eye so bad that I literally screamed while I was sprinting hard on relatively flat road along White River. I had to stop twice to wipe out the sweat around my eyes using my bare hands. The problem might also be the excessive sunscreen I put on my forehead, which was probably washed into my eyes.
I have had sweat stinging my eyes before, but never this bad. I don't know what's different today besides the possible sunscreen mixture. Did I push too hard so I was sweating more than ever? Maybe. But my power number was just a little higher. Though my heart rate stayed in Zone 3 for most of the ride.
Fun thing: while I was charting this route last night, I noticed a road called "Jay Hill road" and it loops back to the main road leading back to Quechee. So it must be a road leading up a hill. As a cyclist I have to ride up that hill 😋. That separates cyclists from normal people. Normal people will try to figure out how to get around it when faced with a mountain; but cyclists will climb up the mountain, and try to ride as fast as possible 😋😋😋.
