Landscape in a match box.
Maybe not a very exciting scene, but the place means something to me. And now I can take it anywhere! 😊

I am one of very few female drystone wallers in Scotland & the world. Below are some things I've worked on. I am very often inspired by traditional drystone structures like planticrus and sheep stells and enjoy bringing their beauty and functionality into our modern lives.

The black on this mug comes from terra sigillata made from a ball of manganese-rich New Mexico clay my friend gave me. After they’re done firing, I lightly sand the exterior of each mug with a fine-grain sandpaper. The handles become smooth and soft to the touch.

awhile back, I made a teapot to give as a gift to my Canadian friend.
It just came out of the kiln. I think she is going to like it!

It's been awhile since i've had a kiln firing. I fired her up last night, and the kiln gods were (mostly) kind to me!
Here's the finished teapot with doves that I carved on the 4th of July. It pours great!
If you want to see the rest of the pots, i just shared a gallery with everything on my website.

A finger cajon nearing completion, my latest mini-project.
The standard cajon is a fairly large box-shaped instrument originated by African slaves in Peru who were denied traditional drums & resorted to shipping crates to get rhythmic. One sits on top and slaps, taps, etc. – most have snare drum wire mounted within for added sonic brightness & texture.
Handmade from 1/4" pine, bamboo mini-skewers & wood glue.
