Working on this year's holiday card embroidery: I am still undecided on which design I'll choose, or I might go for mix of these.

🧵 For all who like to see my #scrollBook project in progress, I start a thread for new photos.

Part of my scrollbook with a needle and yellowish green thread. On a background of bright purple flannel a collage of small white lace, a square of a used teabag and scraps of saree silk. The spuares and rectangles are laid in a collage composition and get fixed with wild, wobbly stitches. One silk scrap in rosé has a beautiful dark lilac and red ornamental print.

Wildly improvised French knot and forward stitches in colour shades from bright rose to dark rose, with some pea green. On vintage gauze which was dyed with red fruit tea using knots to get irregular colour shades. So the whole piece looks like a map with a whiter river, and the embroidery like marks on a map, quite floral.

Zoom showing the stitches in detail. The French knots have different sizes from 1-4 windings. It makes them look more natural, nearly like small flowers.

Une table posée contre un mur. Sur le mur, 3 broderies sont exposées. Il s'agit de 3 dragons colorés brodés dans un style médiéval. Les points de broderie utilisés créent des textures différentes sur chaque partie des dragons.
Le 1er est de profil, les ailes en l'air et la tête dressée, sa queue est enroulée de sorte à former un bretzel.
Le 2eme est de profil dans une posture d'attaque.
Le 3eme a le corps et la tête imprimés en aplat d'encre dorée et les contours, les ailes et quelques détails sont brodés aux fils vert foncé et rouge.
Sur la table il y a un livre avec des photos de broderies médiévales, un carnet de note, des crayons de couleur, un gobelet et des échevettes.

Une broderie posée sur une table. Il s'agit d'une carte où la mer est imprimée avec des vagues bleues. La côte est bordée de plusieurs îles brodées en vert.
Une demi rose des vents en motifs d'entrelacs sur fond bleu.
Dans les terres, il y a des bosquets de peupliers, des collines, des volcans et des moutons bruns.
Un cartouche en forme de parchemin où il est écrit "KYKLOPS".

Broderie en noir sur blanc d'un arbre de vie stylisé dans le style des gravures du 16e siècle. Il s'agit d'un figuier avec le tronc entrelacé. Il a des feuilles et des fruits. Une faux est négligemment posée contre le tronc.
Les ombrages sur le tronc et les branches sont figurés par de petits points de broderie.
