My regular running route goes over the Longfellow Bridge into #Boston from Cambridge. And while we have completely fallen in love with #Paris and want to retire there, while Paris is more beautiful than dear, dowdy little Boston in 999 ways out of a thousand, I have to say that the famous Seine is kind of a dinky brown river hemmed in by ugly walls, and the view from the Longfellow is fucking spectacular.

The Red line is shutting itself down right now as a dead train at Park St. bottlenecks the entire system. Not really a surprise, right? Except this is one of the new trains! Transit matters tracker shows only two more trains total north of the River, so hurry if you need to get down!

My first ever little web app is live!
Trackmbta.app is a web app that can be "installed" on mobile devices.
Features are:
- Live count down
- No permission asked
- No data collected
- Save your favorite stations locally for quick access
If you are a red line commuter and see a ✨ on the app, you probably already know what it means! Those shiny new trains!
The map tab shows where trains are just in case you're curious where that damn train is that you're waiting forever...

Try it and let me know what you think!
I am used to #Boston having bad traffic and appalling drivers, but my life is structured such that I'm almost never out and about during rush hour. (I'm asleep for the morning rush and at work through the afternoon one.) Today, for various reasons, I walked home at 4 pm on Friday and the behavior on display was as embarrassing as it was infuriating.

Took the corgi out for a walk this morning and the only Electrify America charging station in the city of Boston is getting a nice overdue upgrade.
Quick spin on the new tires
Someone was playing saxophone by Neponset trail. Was he the target of a recent 311 complaint about someone playing saxophone (near Adams & King playground in Dorchester)? 😅
Keytar Bear is in downtown crossing T this morning!! Even a few seconds of his music when the doors open on the train is delightful.
A driver almost ran over a construction worker on Mass Ave near Symphony who was directing traffic, while four cyclists waiting patiently in the bike lane. Everyone was yelling at the driver.
And I was told bike lanes were the problem?

Middlesex Fells hiking with the view of Boston skyline
Boston skyline is very hard to capture because of the tallest building in not only Boston but also the whole New England isn’t in the downtown cluster 😆

Nice little walk around Jamaica Pond
As a city dweller for several years I had never done this. Just drove by and was amazed how beautiful it is. Today is a good day to finally do it and enjoyed the crisp air and the snow!
A periodic reminder that there is an email list for my modern classical radio program.
Each week I sent out a *single* email with links to information about the week's show, plus a link to the high quality audio for the show.
(It's a link on https://samply.app/ If you have good internet bandwidth, you can even get lossless quality. But the default is great.)
