Our magnolia tree out back is starting to bloom. When we first moved here, we thought it was the non-blooming type. After a few years we took down a couple hackberry trees (they're known to hollow out in the middle), which gave the magnolia a lot more sun. A year or so later it started to bloom! #BloomScrolling #SilentSunday

For some people, the dandelion is just an annoying weed. For me, this plant is one of my favourite flowers in spring. The yellow flowers shine like little suns in the spring meadow and create a sunny mood even on dull days. The dandelions bring joy to children of all ages when you come up with a nice wish while blowing away the little seed parachutes and send it on its journey. Dandelion leaves are not just a delicacy for rabbits. They also make a tasty and very healthy salad for us humans.

Someone who I love very much has recently come out as trans and chosen the name Violet. And now I'm extra delighted when I see the volunteer violets scattered throughout my yard.
